Rampage Route

The route at present is set to rampage past at least the top ten sights in Africa. These include: Marrakech, Morocco; Pyramids of Giza, Egypt; Omo River Region, Ethiopia; Virunga Mountains (Tracking Gorillas), Uganda, Rwanda, DRC; Masai Mara, Kenya; Serengeti, Mount Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, Tanzania; Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe/Zambia; Timbuktu, Mali; and ending up in Cape Town, South Africa.

OPTION 1 - EAST AFRICAN ROUTE - CAIRO-CAPE TOWN

Top ten sites to see in Africa are fairly unanimous on the internet, and follow a great trail from Cairo to Cape Town that many overland tours already do. These include Marrakech, Morocco; Pyramids of Giza, Egypt; Omo River Region, Ethiopia; Virunga Mountains (Tracking Gorillas), Uganda, Rwanda, DRC; Masai Mara, Kenya; Serengeti, Mount Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, Tanzania; Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe/Zambia; Timbuktu, Mali; and Cape Town, South Africa. These are listed below for discussion purposes:

  1. Marrakech, Morocco
  2. Pyramids of Giza, Egypt
  3. Omo River Region, Ethiopia
  4. Virunga Mountains (Tracking Gorillas), Uganda, Rwanda, DRC
  5. Masai Mara, Kenya
  6. Serengeti, Mount Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, Tanzania [DG Used to live in Tanzania - would thorougly recommend Serengeti in a double decker! Might be difficult to get the double decker on a ferry to Zanzibar though. A climb up kili would add a week to the journey and leave the Routemaster sitting idle so perhaps not ideal. ]
  7. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe/Zambia
  8. Timbuktu, Mali
  9. Cape Town, South Africa

The Rampage route will change over time - please share with us your experiences of Africa so we can create the ultimate route-map together.
